Các cấu trúc đảo ngữ đặc biệt (Phần I) 

A. LÝ THUYẾT:

I. Đảo ngữ với Not

• Mang ý nghĩa phủ định (không)
• Cấu trúc: Not + N + Trợ động từ + S + V + O

Ví dụ

She did not shed a tear when the story ended in a tragedy.

-> Not a tear did she shed when the story ended in a tragedy.

II. Đảo ngữ với các từ: Seldom, Hardly, Scarely, Rarely, Little, Never

• Mang ý nghĩa hiếm khi, ít khi
• Cấu trúc:

Seldom
Hardly
Scarcely   + Trợ động từ  + S + V + O
Rarely
Little
Never

Ví dụ:

I have never seen such a beautiful girl in my life

-> Never in my life have I seen such a beautiful girl.

III. Đảo ngữ với các cụm từ chứa No

• Ý nghĩa của các cụm từ:

• Cấu trúc:

At no time
On no condition
Under no circumstances       + trợ động từ + S + V + O
For no reason
In no way
No longer

Ví dụ:

He never suspected that his girlfriend was an enemy spy.

-> At no time did he suspect that his girlfriend was an enemy spy.

This button mustn’t be touched under any circumstances.

-> Under no circumstances could this button be touch.

IV. Đảo ngữ với các cụm từ chứa Only

• Ý nghĩa của các cụm từ:

• Cấu trúc

Only once
Only later
Only in this way             + Trợ động từ + S + V + O
Only then

• Ví dụ:

I have met her only once.

--> Only once have I met her.

Only after        + Noun / Gerund Verb / Clause + Trợ động từ + S + V + O
Only by

Ví dụ:

I did not realize that my family played an important role in my life until later.

-> Only later did I realize my family played an important role in my life.

Only when     + Clause, Trợ động từ + S + V + O
Only if

I did not realize that my family played an important role in my life until I study aboard.

-> Only when I study abroad, did I realize that  my family played an important role in my life.
